On March 1, WordPress 6.2 Beta 4 was released. Since WordPress 6.2 is still under development, the version should only be used in a test environment. There are three ways to test the beta:
- Option 1: Install and activate the WordPress Beta Tester plugin (select the “Bleeding edge” channel and the “Beta/RC Only” stream).
- Option 2: Download the Beta 4 files as a ZIP.
- Option 3: Use this WP-CLI command:
wp core update –version=6.2-beta4
The final release of WordPress 6.2 is scheduled for March 28th, and you can help by testing the new version in advance and reporting bugs.
You can read how it works in the article about the first beta version.
